Austrian Adventure Culture
Innsbruck
Adventure and the sciences,
bold courage and genuine ambition
The jagged summits of the north mountain chain soar high above Innsbruck. Up there, freedom seems limitless, adventure beckons. Shoulder your skis, lead the way, tread new paths – move your horizon and venture where none has ventured before. This is Innsbruck, its history, its people – then and now.
What holds for alpinism, the fight for freedom and crossing the Alps, also holds for the sciences: brave souls are needed to take the lead – to form rope teams and strong networks. Innsbruck University has stood for this aspiration since 1669. One of the foremost in Europe, it can boast prize-winners in all areas of research, as well as an outstanding medical faculty.
Emperor Maximilian I (1459-1519), a passionate mountaineer, was far ahead of his time and made effective use of the printing press as a new medium for his own purposes. His visions are manifest in splendid buildings such as the Goldenes Dachl, the Hofburg and the armoury. In 1869, the first conference in Tyrol was held at the Dogana, and a mere 23 Years later, the first Tyrolean trade fair.
The fascination of the town on the River Inn lies in its contrasts: the rugged mountains and the splendid sights; tradition and modernism; the old-established and the refreshingly new. Innsbruck, an urban Alpine adventure.

Alpine. Urban.
Congress Messe Innsbruck
Based in the state capital of the Tyrol, Congress Messe Innsbruck combines three extraordinary event locations. With ten of its own exhibitions, it is one of Austria’s leading trade fair organisers.
Congress Innsbruck is an extraordinary conference venue nestled into the picturesque old town of Innsbruck. With 13 halls across three floors, it offers perfect conditions for events with 20 to 2,500 attendees, such as meetings, corporate events and international conferences. The Dogana, a magnificent hall from the late 16th century, is the heart and soul of the building.
The centrally located Messe Innsbruck perfectly complements Congress Innsbruck. Spanning an area of 40,000 square metres, it consists of five halls and the MesseForum, a state-of-the-art conference centre offering five multi-purpose foyers.
Congress Messe Innsbruck’s third extravagant location is the congresspark igls with a capacity of up to 300. It is situated in the historical, landscaped park of the sun-kissed village of Igls, located at 900 metres above sea level and only a 15-minute drive outside of the city. The congresspark is available for all kinds of exclusive corporate events.
To complete the company’s portfolio, its in-house full-service conference agency PCO Tyrol Congress offers comprehensive event planning and management services.
Space to flourish
Congress Innsbruck
At the heart of Innsbruck’s old town, just a stone’s throw from the city’s greatest attractions, Congress Innsbruck offers ample space for success to flourish. The inspiring architecture of the building has been shaped by contrasts over many years. Its most magnificent hall, the historical Dogana, dates back to the late 16th century. Originally built as the first Royal Court Opera theatre north of the Alps, it was incorporated into the new Congress Innsbruck building during the 1970s.
Its 13 halls and rooms, two of which are divisible, and its spacious foyers across three levels make Congress Innsbruck an outstanding location for events for 100 to 2,500 people. From international conferences and corporate events to meetings and seminars, events held at Congress Innsbruck benefit from spacious rooms (open or closed), flexible usage options and state-of-the-art technology.
The venue offers spectacular panoramic views of the nearby old town of Innsbruck with all its urban and Alpine flair, the River Inn, and the surrounding mountains. All halls and foyers are decorated with works by contemporary Tyrolean artists.

Over a century’s industry competence
Messe Innsbruck
In 2023, Messe Innsbruck celebrated its centenary. Located just a few minutes’ walk from the Imperial Gardens, Tyrol’s largest exhibition centre is an easily accessible venue spanning an area of more than 40,000 square meters.
It is the venue of the ten exhibitions organised by Congress Messe Innsbruck itself. One of them is Interalpin, the world’s leading trade fair for cable car technology, which attracts 650 exhibitors and more than 35,000 visitors from all over the world.
Messe Innsbruck has enjoyed constant expansion and modernisation in its long history. Today, it comprises five halls and the state-of-the-art MesseForum, a conference centre offering five flexibly adaptable and technically well-equipped halls with a capacity of 58 to 1,640. The historical Hall B is the jewel in the crown of Messe Innsbruck: dating back to the 19th century, it was moved from Prague to Innsbruck in 1892. Its spacious steel frame recalls the era of large expos.
The facilities of Messe Innsbruck perfectly complement those of Congress Innsbruck: the two buildings are a mere 15 minutes’ walk away from each other, which creates fantastic synergies. Large events, such as conferences, can use them in parallel. Our professional team will be happy to offer advice and support for your events.
Extravagance in verdant surroundings
congresspark igls
The idyllic spot of Igls is just a 15-minute drive away from central Innsbruck. As early as the 19th century, leisure-seekers and tourists flocked to the sun-kissed village at 900 metres above sea level.
At the centre of its historical, landscaped park sits congresspark igls, Congress Messe Innsbruck’s most unusual event location. The fully glazed building was erected in 2007, surrounded by trees and contemporary sculptures. Reminiscent of a garden pavilion, its architecture exudes elegance and lightness.
It consists of the Panorama Saal, a spacious foyer, two flexibly usable seminar rooms and a restaurant and accommodates up to 300 people on a single floor. Access to congresspark igls is exclusive, so a discreet atmosphere is guaranteed. No branding is displayed across the location, allowing event organisers to individualise the venue to their own preferences.
The park can be used for breaks or sessions, too: congresspark igls is a masterpiece of inspiring architecture surrounded by lush nature. With clear lines, plenty of daylight, quality materials and excellent fittings, it meets the highest standards for an extravagant location.
This makes congresspark igls an ideal site for any kind of corporate event.
